HDPE Pipes Testing
HDPE pipe is a type of flexible plastic pipe being used for fluid and gas transfer and is often used to replace ageing concrete or steel mains pipelines. HDPE pipes are made from the thermoplastic HDPE (high-density polyethylene), its high level of impermeability and strong molecular bond make it suitable for high pressure pipelines. HDPE pipes are being used in various applications such as water mains, gas mains, sewer mains, slurry transfer lines, rural irrigation, fire system supply lines, storm water, and drainage pipes.
Qualitest Canada performs various destructive and Non-destructive tests on HDPE pipes. Qualitest Canada has highly experienced professionals who have vast knowledge about the HDPE pipes testing.
Non-Destructive Testing
HDPE pipe fusion welds (bonding) from the qualification coupons are normally tested with TOFD and Phased Array UT examination.
Destructive Testing
In many cases, the HDPE pipe fusion welds (bonding) from the qualification coupons needs to be tested destructively through Tensile Test, Tensile Impact, Drop Impact, Three Point Bend Test, Torque Test and Burst Test.
Qualitest Canada has the capability to perform all kind of the destructive and Non-destructive testing on HDPE pipe fusion welds.
